Personal History		Tyv th’Qarret was born on the Andorian homeworld to a very happy bond group. It had taken several attempts for the th’Qarret bond group to conceive but were more than happy when Tyv was born. Tyv was mainly brought up by his maternal parents Piria and Shrile as his paternal parents served in the Andorian Guard which protected the Andorian empire from such foes like the Vulcans and Klingons. When Than and Kin came home they would share stories of their adventures and missions with Tyv. Hearing the stories as he grew up pushed Tyv to join the Andorian guard like his paternal parents. He also was fascinated by travelling amongst the stars. The older he got, the harder he studied with his schooling. He was determined to be the best and the strongest. He joined in many physical sports to help him gain strength and agility. When he reached 18, he formally applied for the Andorian Guard academy. However, during this time the Andorian Empire was entering an era of change. The Empire had signed up to become a member of the coalition of planets with neighbouring civilisations such as Vulcan, Earth and Tellar. This was only a pretense for something bigger and more united. The Federation. This Federation would mean all joining worlds would form one united front. Separate space forces and military organisations would merge into the one. This meant that those joining this Starfleet would all need to go to the one place for training, Earth. Tyv wasn’t sure about travelling so far away from home to join this Starfleet. Both his Paternal parents had already made the transition across to this new interstellar organisation. He finally accepted a position at Starfleet Academy and made the move to San Francisco, Earth. All he asked was his first assignment to be on an Andorian ship, as he wanted to follow in his fathers footsteps. Upon joining the academy, Tyv (now known as Ret to his friends) again threw himself into his studies. He excelled at piloting and physical training such as hand to hand combat. He made various different friends during his time there, including a Human and Tellarite. He graduated in the top 10% of his academy class and had chosen Flight Control as his chosen field. Rumours were rife around the academy campus with various ships being mentioned for potential deployments like the USS Thelasa-vei or the USS Artemis. Ret didn't see the fuss about the human ship but was pleased an Andorian ship was taking on crew as he’d asked for an Andorian vessel. However, when assignments were handed out, Ret had been assigned to the Artemis as the Thelasa-vei or any other Andorian ship didn’t have space for a pilot/helmsman. Angry with the decision, he took his assignment to the Artemis as high as he could but was told there wasn’t any space on an Andorian ship for him. He’d need to take the Artemis position or resign. After speaking to all his parents, he decided to take the position on the Artemis. He worked too hard over the past few years to throw it all away.
