Thomas was curious on something. He knew that Reyna was meeting up with the Captain at noon today. He was curious how that went. With a big grin he asked. "How did lunch go with the Captain?"
“I was so nervous at first,” Reyna confessed. “A thousand reasons kept running through my head over what he might want.” Her eyes lit up. “He is very approachable. It went really well.”
"You made it through." Thomas said, with a big grin. "One down, one to go." He said, as he continued on. "Commander Harper, heard she can be timidating." Thomas suggested to her in a playful manner.
“Seriously!” Reyna’s eyes widened at first and then she sensed he was teasing her. “I am going to have to meet with her soon and I heard she is a stickler for details.”
"I would share some pointers, but I have a feeling that will take away from the experience." Thomas said, in a teasing voice of his own.
“Oh,” Reyna said with a smile. “Please feel free to spoil it for me and take away from the experience. I want to set a good example.”
"Spoil you, that is my daily goal." Thomas said, with a big grin on his face. Thomas loved how this relationship was starting to blossom between them.
“I think we may be planning to spoil each other.” Reyna said with a smile. Thomas was someone special, at least she thought so.
"I like the sound of that." Thomas said, with a big loving grin on his face. "First though, lets take it slow, I'll spoil you." He said, in a playful teasing grin.
“I can handle that,” Reyna grinned. “I don’t know a woman alive who doesn’t appreciate it.” She looked at him. “I can’t wait to see what you come up with.”
"Something tells me, that you are pulling my leg. Do you honestly expect me to believe that?" Thomas asked with a serious look on his face. Behind that serious look, was a smile itching to come out.
“I do,” Reyna smiled. “There is nothing that makes me smile more than an unexpected surprise or to surprise others.” She sighed. “I think it helps to show appreciation, don’t you?” She said with a grin.
"You do not appear to the type, to only accept gifts without sharing one in return. I could be wrong, but you do not appear to be that type to me." Thomas said, thinking this was some laborate ruse, to get him in a false sense of letting his guard down. The reason he liked her, was for the fact she had a lot of similiar traits as he did. She liked surprises, and he loved to surprise those who surprise him. And loves to give out tokens of his affection. Deep down he believed, she was the same in that regards.
“Oh,” Reyna smiled widely. “I love surprising others. It’s like Christmas for me, I am happier surprising others than I am getting anything. Giving to someone else and making them smile is the best gift I can have.” She had always been this way for as long as she could remember.
"I guess Christmas time will be a blast for you. A lot of people on this ship, a lot of surprises for you to fullfill." Thomas said, with a big grin on his face.
“You are so right,” Reyna grinned. “I could be like a secret Santa, leaving anonymous gifts for crew.”’
"Accept I would know, so you would have only two choices, make me help you, or make me dissapear." Thomas said, with a big grin on his face. He was clearly teasing her.
“Oh you will be helping me,” Reyna grinned. “I can just see you as one of Santa’s elves spreading Christmas cheer.”
"So you see yourself as Santa huh?" Thomas asked, with a big grin on his face.
“Santa Reyna,” she replied with a laugh. “Now doesn’t that have a really nice ring to it.”
"What does that make me? Santa's helper? Santa's Domestic Partner?" Thomas asked, with a big grin on his face.
“Assistant Santa Thomas,” Reyna grinned. “The pay isn’t great but maybe I can scare you up some cookies.”
"I hate to burst your bubble dearie, there is only one santa, and his helpers." Thomas suggested, with a devilish grin on his face.
Reyna grinned in return. “Well Santa hires a lot of people to pretend to be him, I’ll just be one of them then.”
"You can't pay yourself to be yourself." Thomas said with the grin, thinking that was a silliest thing he had ever heard.
“It’s a good thing we are doing it simply for the joy of others then.”Reyna said with a grin of her own. “To brighten their day.”
"The joy of others you say?" Thomas asked with the curious look on his face. He wondered who she meant by the others?
“Yes,” Reyna grinned. “Leaving secret Santa presents for the crew, they are the others.” Had he forgotten what they were discussing?
"I am not dumb, I was trying to be sarcastically funny, but you failed to pick up on that. Noted." Thomas suggusted to her, with a big teasing grin of his own.
“I can be slow when it comes to joking,” Reyna said with a laugh, then looked at him. “I didn’t think you were dumb, I think you are really smart actually.”
"So what exactly are you trying to say, no sugar coating it." Thomas said, trying to understand where she was coming from?
“We slid off topic and both got off on the Santa thing,” Reyna explained. “I like you and I believe you are intelligent, funny and interesting.”
"We did go on a tangent about Santa. It's easier to focus on tangents, than to express feelings." Thomas suggested to her, as his reason for getting carried away with it.
Reyna smiled at him. “You are right but it really shouldn’t be that hard when you care about someone.” She looked in his eyes. “The more we spend time together, the more I fall for you.”
"Going soft on me, are you?" Thomas said, in a teasing voice. He appreciated her honesty. But that did not stop him from teasing her a little bit.
“I am,” Reyna smiled at him, “The moment felt right so I went for it.”
"Shame, I like strong willed ladies, not conformers." Thomas suggested to her, with a big grin on his face. He was ofcourse teasing her.
Reyna laughed at him. “A woman is many things, both soft and strong.” She shook her head. “We are complex.”
"That is a contradiction. You can not be soft and and strong willed. They are opposites." Thomas pointed out to her. She would need to do a better job of explaining, why she thought he was wrong.
“But a person can,” Reyna replied seriously. “Put me on the bridge in a do or die situation and I can be strong willed and determined.” She smiled at him. “Put me in the arms of a man I love and I can be soft and loving.”
"Dunno, sounds like a recipe for disaster, if we are being honest." Thomas suggested to her.
“How so?” Reyna asked him. She was curious to hear what he had to say about her thoughts.
"To early to surrender yourself." Thomas suggested to her. "You might loose your own identity." Thomas suggested to Her.
“That is true,” Reyna said with a nod. “I just really feel like a person can show inner strength they ever knew they were capable of in times of crisis.”
"I think you are getting to mushy on me." Thomas said, with a teasing grin on his face. "There will be a time and a place for mushiness." Thomas pointed out to her.
Reyna grinned. “Too mushy huh? So what shall we do then? Want to play a game for something? Maybe we can get some crew to play cards?”
"I think that would be a good thing." Thomas said, as the scene starts to fade away.
“Then let’s go grab some of them,” Reyna grinned. “I will see if Arabella and Carter want to play and you can check around for others.” She sent a message hoping they could come.
