Mission: The Hunt Begins
Location: Various
Timeline: MD004 - 1500 hours

Faith was still thinking about a previous conversation that was at, or at least more so still in her head. So she went to one of the holodecks. Setting up an Engineering Lab as the program. As of yet not even starting on anything. Instead she called asking if Viessa would join her in there.

The call to the holodeck was a surprise, but not an unwelcome one. Viessa had been cataloguing some samples that she'd picked up for research but luckily hadn't started anything that was time critical. Placing her things away carefully she moved to leave and headed towards Lt. Benson.

As the large doors opened she walked into what looked like a lab of some sort. "I don't quite think this is my setting." she commented as she walked in further.

She'd not even started yet with anything. Faith was more just looking through crates of near looking random parts than anything. Peeking her head up when she heard the doors open, "Come now, why not?"

"No dead bodies." Viessa joked as she noticed Faith looking through some boxes nearby. "Looking for anything exciting?" she asked.

"Metal cylindrical objects," there was no reason to beat around the bush. "Cause you know that's how they start." Idly digging again while talking, "And so? I'm technically not an Engineer either. Except we both have lived a very very long time. Being a Doctor is the same as engineering or building things anyway."

"Yes, we have lived for a while now." Viessa cast her mind back her time on El Auria before the fall, before The Exodus. Then the building up of Kaitos and now this, her second stint in Starfleet... not that they knew that. "Being a Doctor is similar, yes. What is the body if not a biological machine?" she asked rhetorically as she held out a hand and talking the metal object from Faith. "Although, I wouldn't quite put myself in the same league as an Engineer when it came to using things like this." she shook the cylinder.

Faith remembered her time there as well, though so much closer to the Borg and changing their tactics to just destruction than Viessa's probably was. Not that they had actually shared any of their experiences during or after that. "Sure you are though, the innards, the wires, organs, vessels, arteries." Finding another about the same size and shape. "Ever used a sword?"

"I have trained in some close combat weapons but I can't say I've used a sword... not for a while now anyway. Why?" Viessa asked.

"Well because we're gonna use these for hilts..in a manner. Duel bladed, single. Two, that type of thing." Faith giggled just a little bit. Setting one down. "Sure it would be easier to just draw up a schematic and replicate from there, but it doesn't mean it'll work. Hence, doing it on the holodeck where it's remotely safer."

"Ah." Viessa said with a nod. "So, the hilt would be in the middle and a blade on each end? That kind of thing?" she asked as she scratched the back of her head.

"Well if it's a double bladed kind of thing, yes. It's a little hard to explain without showing sometimes if one isn't familiar to be honest." She leaned back against one of the workbenches.

"Well you can guide me in weapon crafting as we go along then." Viessa smiled. "I like to think I'm a pretty quick study."

"Alright," Faith smiled and laid out a bunch of different materials for them both to use. All of it varied to how they wanted each to look. Since Faith herself had seen Star Wars more than enough, she had an idea of what she wanted hers to look like. She wasn't sure if Viessa had, though still the last name was a little sus. Or maybe a coincidence. Faith wasn't even sure if she should point the last name thing out yet or not. "So... your last name..." obviously changing her mind about asking. Showing Viessa how to start with the main housing first but also how it had to link together to also be taken apart to put the innards in.

Viessa began to link the parts together so she had an understanding of the workings of what was to come. Then unlinked them to the inner materials could be inserted. Faith spoke and Viessa looked at her with raised eyebrows, an innocent look if ever there was one. "What about it? It's a family name. Goes back many thousands of years." Viessa replied taking notice of the theme the weapons were taking.

"Because I know it from a movie, which also happens to be what gave me the idea for us, you and I specifically to build these. Which are called lightsabers." Faith leaning across Viessa a moment to grab a chip board.

"I think I have seen those movies." Viessa spoke with a knowing glint in her eye. "I did always love Chewbacca." she smiled to herself as she reminded herself of the small dog she'd had back at the time she'd met George. It was a yappy little thing but still a loyal and loving friend. Also, the fact she'd mentioned to George about her father, Obian.

Sometimes she felt their time together had connected them throughout time and space. The fact his movies later depicted several connections to her, and their time together, made it all the more memorable.

"Oh?" Faith smiled light a little bit, fitting the boards into the housing on each side. Not yet working on crystal housing.

"Oh indeed." Viessa mused as she helped Faith. "I am a lover of older Earth. Even now I still think Humans have quite a lot of potential, even if they get involved in everyone's business and often try to poke dangerous species everywhere they go."

"Why do I feel something about you've more than seen them? Maybe it's me, and my gut, or perhaps because I've been there, but for example, Obi-Wan's name wasn't George's idea. Or there was an outside influence there." Faith finished the sauldering on hers, and if needed to helped Viessa with hers. "Okay... power supply. That's pretty easy actually. Got an idea what we can use?"

"Always possible." Viessa agreed as she too soldered her weapon. She'd seen how they attempted to make them back in the day but the technology now was far closer to that of Jedi and Sith that it would make a much more plausible attempt at a lightsaber. "Human's are easy to influence even without the use of our pheromones." she mused.

"I'd imagine the crystalline looking shapes to be our power source. They don't look very ornamental." Viessa stated picking one up.

"Actually, it's a focusing crystal. Granted, obviously we don't have 'The Force' which is suppose to give a connection to the user and the Kyber Crystal, but the work is there. It's also color for us will be a focus there to it. The power supply is pretty simple actually, just a phaser battery." Faith grinned a little. "Which one are you thinking?" referring to the crystals.

"I like the blue." Viessa indicated picking up the crystal she spoke of. "I would be cool to have the force though... little bit of telekinesis, power to sway the weak minded..." she shook her head. "Although I guess our pheromones can do that last one." she added in reference to the ability to get people to open up to them.

"I can't decide between green or violet to be honest." Listening a moment, Faith raised an eyebrow. "I guess that's true. I never figured it was pheromones though. We can see through space and time. Have you ever been in the Nexus?"

"I have not." Viessa replied tinkering with the crystal. "I have heard of it, and known some of our people were trapped, lost within it and that some managed to get out, but I haven't had that experience." she added. "Have you?"

Faith glanced down a moment, then back up, "I don't know if you'd call it fortunately or unfortunately, but yes."

"I think everyone's experience was unique. If what I'm told is true, that it let you live life how you want or that it gave you the best fantasy of a life not lived." Viessa noticed Faith's reticence. "I know talking about it can sometimes be hard..."

"It can be..but at least talking to someone like you. We having the same presence about each other. Regardless of aptitude. We still do. So you can understand more than others of how that could have felt." Tinkering a little more, Faith set Viessa's saber hilt down. "Now you have to do one more thing before you push the button."

Viessa listened and nodded along with Faith. It was true that El Aurians had a deeper bond with each other than other species. It was said that if two El Aurians were in the same room, lights turned out, that they would still find each other. Their bond as a species was that strong.

"What do I have to do?" Viessa asked.

There was this little smirk given. "While these are not actually going to work outside of the holodeck......yet. The physical components we can take out. You have to put your self into the crystal. If you don't do that, it won't even turn on."

"Well that's rubbish." Viessa sighed. "I was hoping to scare some crewmen with this." She joked. "But I think I am able enough to energize the crystal with some of my essence, for lack of a better word."

Faith juggled around her hilt a little, "You still can. These are physically constructed parts. The metaphysical will take a little more time." Holding up her colored crystal. "This is real as well. It's a long process though."

"Well luckily we have all the time in the universe, as long as we are careful and do not get blown up." Viessa laughed half-heartedly.

Faith chuckled a bit, "Well you still can. Can always set it just to emit a controlled beam of light that looks physical for now." Giving a slightly mischievous grin.

"Sounds like you have it all planned out." Viessa chuckled at the grin on Faith's face.

"Maaaybe a little."

"I can use it as a night light in my quarters." Viessa joked.

Faith giggled slightly, "I suppose you could, yes."

There was a slight vibration on Viessa's wrist and a message on her watch that notified her of an upcoming appointment. "Well, I have a patient coming in soon that I need to see."

"Okay. I'll give you a holler when I am ready for the next part once it's practical use is ready," Faith gave her a light smile.

"Cant wait." Viessa grinned and then made a bee line for the door.
